Tamala Chirwa is an International Coach Federation (ICF) Credentialed Associate Certified Coach (ACC) specialising in Leadership, Talent Management, Career, Group and Team Coaching. She is a Corporate Trainer, Consultant, Speaker, Mentor and a Vital Voices Leadership Fellow. Her credentials include MBA from MANCOSA, ACCA Diploma in Financial Management and Post-Graduate Management Certificate from University of Cape Town Graduate School of Business. During her corporate career, she held various positions with leading organizations in the banking, international development, mining, manufacturing and leadership development sectors in Malawi, South Africa and Kenya. She excelled at delivering high-value solutions in the finance, operations, human resources and coaching functions. She has solid experience in designing and delivering leadership development programs for organisations and coach-training programs for aspiring professional coaches.
Tamala is the Founder of Women’s Leadership Footprint, a Coaching Practice that supports women in leadership through coaching so that they can be more effective and impactful in their roles. She heads Professional Coaching Institute, a coach-training company that develops and supports a credible community of professional coaches through high-impact coach-training programs and supports decision makers to embed coaching and mentoring in their organisational cultures. Her role entails working with organisational clients in various sectors through designing and delivering leadership development programs (a hybrid of in-person leadership training and one to one and team/group coaching sessions). Her coaching philosophy is based on the premise that high performers and potentials should be adequately supported to sustain the successes they register in their career trajectories to ultimately build powerful legacies in whatever spaces they occupy. She remains steadfast in her resolve to meaningfully contribute towards advancing the coaching and mentoring agenda in Malawi and Africa. Her coaching and facilitation style entails guiding her clients through life-changing personal and professional development expeditions in the quest to succeed in their careers and leadership.
Tamala is engaged in other roles such as: Malawi Coach/Cohort Facilitator for Breakfast Club Africa (A Pan African organisation that is exclusive to and supports CEOs and Heads of Organisations to become better leaders through knowledge acquisition/learning, peer-based problem solving and individualised leadership coaching to achieve better results for themselves, their employees and organisations); Malawi Coach for Women in News Programme – A WAN-IFRA leadership development program that supports women in media in Africa/MENA to aspire for higher leadership positions in the media organisations they work in; Subject Matter Expert and Leadership Coach for the MBA Program with the Africa Leadership University School of Business in Rwanda.
